Year 1 learnt a poem in Peace Week:
I can change the world with my own two hands,
Make a better place with my own two hands,
Make a kinder place with my own two hands.
They thought of ways they could use their hands to do this. Here are some of the ideas they wrote.
“I put an ice pack under my friend’s arm when he hurt his arm and eye.”
“I wrote thank you cards for everyone in Year 1.”
“I can change my brother’s diaper.”
I use my two hands to do jobs at home.”
“I can use my hands to sort things out if there is a fight.”
