Diwrnod da!” Who knew Mr Hinton could speak some Welsh? Certainly not Year 2! Mr Hinton went on to explain some interesting facts about his home country and heritage.
Following Wales’ great success in this year’s World Cup, Mr Hinton shared the country’s passion for its national sport. The children became nearly as excited as Mr Hinton as we watched the Welsh rugby team stand to attention and sing their national anthem with pride. He explained the story behind the Red Dragon, and why the leek and daffodils are emblems of Wales. We also had a go at saying their longest place name – Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogo. Perhaps this needs more practice! Diolch Mr Hinton.
